ASSE 6010 - Installer of Medical Gas Systems
The ASSE 6010 credential is mandatory for persons who install medical gas and vacuum systems, particularly those who will perform brazing operations. An in-depth introduction to the rules of NFPA 99, NFPA 55 and the ASSE 6000 Series is provided. Alongside these we discuss the role of the gases, installation practices, environment of the medical gas system and safety when working around these systems. Training on the proper method to braze medical gas piping is given. The credential is awarded after a written exam and three sample brazes are performed and verified by a 3rd party lab.
The ASSE 6010 Installer course is composed of 2 educational components. The first component is training coursework (Online) which covers medical gas equipment, usage in a medical facility, and related NFPA requirements. The second component is a one-day, practical brazing examination scheduled in your facility and proctored virtually. All candidates are required to pass both educational components to qualify as ASSE 6010 Medical Gas Installers.
The validity of the ASSE 6010 - Medical Gas Systems Installer credential REQUIRES that the credential holder verify every 6 months that they are still performing the qualified brazing procedure in the field. Otherwise the credential will no longer be valid (expired).
